Some people often think that remedials is a waste of time and most often, they are right: if after spending months in a remedial study and the student still have learning gaps and cannot secure admission to study his course of choice, then what is the use?

Academic staff at Babanawa understand that students come from diverse educational backgrounds and may have varying levels of preparation in different subjects. Our remedial studies help students to identify and address learning gaps that may exist due to differences in prior education, ensuring that all students have a strong foundation to build upon.

Our curriculum has been designed to be easy to teach, easy to understand and easy to pass. Babanawa believes that every student deserves a chance to succeed regardless of their initial skill level. Our remedial programs promote inclusivity by ensuring that students from various backgrounds and skill levels have equal opportunities to excel in their studies. This inclusivity contributes to a diverse and enriching learning environment. The remedial curriculum offers 8 secondary school subjects and contemporary life skills. Details can be found in the "Application requirement" section below.

Babanawa remedial programmes often involve one-on-one interactions, allowing instructors to focus on the specific needs of each student. This personalized attention helps students grasp concepts more effectively and fosters a better understanding of the subject matter. This has helped to keep failure rates in our remedial school well below 2% in the last 2 years.

We have taken time to deliberately build students’ confidence, improve academic performance in a conducive learning environment, prevent dropout rates later in future by tailoring students’ learning to their needs and pace, enhancing core skills to enable them to remedy their senior secondary school examination certificates and gain admission into future programmes, be it at the polytechnic or university.
