A Harmonious Host Community
Babanawa University is situated in Igah Ikeje, Olamaboro LGA in Kogi state. It is a serene countryside community with a population of approximately 15,000 people, primarily engaged in peasant farming, education, and commerce.
Despite its rural charm and proximity (just 3 kilometers) from the Local Government headquarters, Igah Ikeje lies along a major road traveled daily by over 2,000 vehicles, linking key cities such as Enugu, Nsukka, Lokoja, Ajaokuta, and Abuja.
The community, which is Igala speaking, is known for its warmth and peaceful coexistence with Igbos, Hausas, Idomas and Yorubas, a tradition maintained for more than a century.

Security
The safety of our students is a top priority. Security in the area is robust, supported by a divisional police station, a joint task force, a local vigilante group, and dedicated university security personnel. 2 Military outposts are stationed close by and ready to respond within minutes. There are more than 50 campus police officers, private security personnel, and other security support staff charged with keeping the campus and the surrounding safe and secure. Officers patrol campus on foot, bikes, and in security vehicles. They receive specialized training in cultural diversity, sexual harassment, hate crimes, first aid, community policing, and crime prevention. They do not carry firearms. Each hostel is further fortified with its special barriers of ditch or high walled fence and 6 watch towers are stationed behind the school to increase surveillance. There are also 40 smart CCTV cameras on campus that allow security officers to watch for criminal activity or safety issues. In the unlikely event of a security emergency, call the security number always displayed on your portal.

We understand the excitement and anxiety of your first day. That's why we've made your arrival seamless. Whether you're coming alone or with family, temporary accommodations are available for both students and accompanying guardians. Simply present your admission letter or any other evidence that suggests you are our student at our designated welcome center and we'll handle the rest. Transport to Babanawa University is even made easier if you contact our dedicated logistics officer in Abuja or Enugu muster centers.
